When you think of radiator covers, you think of drab and boring. After all, a radiator is a necessity that is not so pleasant to look at. For many years people have been looking for way to cover up these unsightly objects and turn them into something worth looking at. Through the years we have been successful at creating radiator covers that are indeed aesthetically pleasing and often times very useful in other ways.
Lately, you can pick up a normal, good sized radiator cover for a fair price that will not take up much space and is nice in appearance. You can even get those radiator covers that have a wider depth and you are able to add decorations on top of the radiator cover. But what about those exceptional radiator covers? You may have seen them, you may not have. The radiator covers I am speaking of are those that really offer a good purpose for taking up the space.
A good example of an outstanding cover would be a bench. A radiator cover is built into a bench. This bench can either be strictly wood or covered with materials and fluff. There is really no limit on what you can do to the bench as far as decorating and comfort is concerned. A benches basic structure is that of a radiator cover, so it seems practical to be able to have both.
Radiator covers can also act as book cases. The bottom of radiator covers is where the radiator is actually located and a bookcase can be built around it. This is also true of other shelves and forms of storage. This can translate out into some serious storage space.
Radiator covers are often seen as TV stands. This does not affect the TV as some might think because the heat is flowing outward, not upward. The radiator covers backing is reflective and the heat hit the back and reflects to the front where it is released at mid level. Typically, a radiator without a cover would shoot the heat upward creating loss of effect and efficiency.
If you do not have the room for making bigger pieces and just have enough room for the general radiator area, you might want to consider the grille type. This is very important and can add as much or as little as you want to a room. A grille cover alone can make an extreme difference on how the room comes together. This is often a choice for those who do not have a lot of money to shell out on generator covers that can tend to be more expensive. Create custom grille covers yourself or have them made. You can put any design in a grille cover as long as the holes are not too big. It is always important to keep in mind safety of small children and pets when designing a cover.
For the most part, you can do anything with radiator covers. The only thing that is limiting is your imagination. If you can think it, it can be done. There are just the simple rules of ventilation, insulation and reflection to be concerned with when designing unique and custom radiator covers.
