Radiator covers and pipe boxing from Contour Casings are now proven to be effective against the latest high profile “superbug”, Clostridium dificule (C-diff).

As standard all contour radiator guards and LST radiator covers are finished with BioCote to provide proven silver antimicrobial protection.  The same can be used to finish Contour-Ply pipe casings.

BioCote have certification proving the efficacy of the Silver technology on harmful bacteria such as MRSA, E coli, Salmonella enteritdis, and Legionella pneumophila among others and now can add C diff to this comprehensive list. Clostridium difficile is a bacteria found in the intestines.  When this over populates inside the intestine or colon you may get an illness called Clostridium difficile colitis.

When C diff takes over due to the imbalance of bacteria it creates two main types of toxins.  If the toxins are allowed to develop and attack the intestinal wall, it may cause ulcerations and if left untreated a patient could die from it.

The use of silver based antimicrobials to complement other infection control practices is increasingly seen as an important method of inhibiting the growth of bacteria and reducing the risk of cross contamination.
