Leading column casings manufacturer, Contour Casings Ltd, has teamed up with Durham County Cricket Club as part of the redevelopment of the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground.
Contours’ Aluminium Encasement System was chosen as the ideal exterior finishing product for the new function rooms opening in time for the 2011/12 season, and the solution to the problem of unsightly exposed building structures.
The Emirates ICG is a world class sporting and music venue which regularly attracts visitors from all over the world for events, from huge open-air concerts to sporting occasions. This Summer also sees the return of International Cricket, with England taking on India in a NatWest one day International.
The in-house design team at Contours Casings worked closely with the client and identified Aluminium column casings as the aesthetic solution to exposed building structures. The clean lines of the Don Robson Pavilion are complimented by the casings, which are are also robust enough to withstand the rigours of an outdoor application in a busy sporting venue, requiring minimal lifetime maintenance. Contours’ manufacturing department then employed the latest computer software to deliver a product which satisfied all scheme criteria, before Contours’ installation team moved in to complete the project, completing the full turnkey service.
