Contour Casings has recently successfully defended a complaint to the Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) from Alumasc Interiors, the owners of the Pendock brand of preformed plywood pipe casings.
The complaint was in connection to the highly successful "Spot The Difference" advert that Contour has been using since December 2005. Alumasc claimed that our advertising was misleading.

However, the complaint was not upheld by the ASA, agreeing with our claim that "the ad was in the interests of vigorous competition". A full copy of the adjudication can be viewed at the ASA website at:

Leigh Simpson of Contour commented, "This is a typical David vs. Goliath story. We are working hard to get a great product out to the market at sensible prices, and we are being bullied by the incumbent market leader who obviously don't want prices to come down. We believe that preformed plywood pipe covers have massive potential in the market as an aesthetic and easy to install alternative to site made boxing, however, this type of product has been far too expensive in the past. It is our strategy to force down prices to make this product affordable to as many potential users as possible."
