In 2003, joint founder, Leigh Simpson had a Eureka moment when he discovered the anti-microbial properties of silver.  He knew that if he could use this technology on the surface of low surface temperature radiator guards and LST radiators he could bring major hygiene benefits to the healthcare market place, helping to solve the growing problem of hospital acquired infections caused by antibiotic resistant bacteria, which causes misery to thousands of patients throughout the UK every year, costs the NHS millions and potentially costs lives.
Armed with this idea, the founding team, including current director, Dawn Simpson, approached BioCote®, who had recently developed a new powder coating which included silver and was proven to reduce bacteria by up to 99.9%.  BioCote had already approached numerous radiator guard and LST radiator manufacturers, who had all doubted the demand for such a solution.  Within minutes, a long standing relationship was born between Contour and Biocote, and we became the exclusive licensee of this technology for Radiator Covers and LST Radiators.  We are still the exclusive licensee of this technology in our market.
Within 6 months, the same manufacturers were beating a path to BioCote®’s door to gain access to the same solution, only to find they were too late.
This proposition, aligned to our secure, quick access designs, which enable single person access to radiator guard interiors for regular deep cleaning and maintenance - potentially saving the NHS £milliions every year in cleaning costs and delivering cleaner healthcare environments, quickly redefined the market place, positioning Contour as design and innovation leaders within the sector.
These same principals of providing innovative solutions to often ignored yet costly problems has recently enabled Contour to enter the Architectural Fabrications marketplace to improve installation times, aesthetics, quality, product lifespan and building performance through the use of our designs and products.
This vision is supported by major investment in advanced manufacturing technology, a quality 1st philosophy and a committed, passionate and conscientious customer focussed team who possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, and who take pride in developing design solutions for your buildings, and of course it is Made In The UK.
Today, we have maintained this entrepreneurial spirit and passion for what we do, and are continuing to develop our range of building product solutions to continue to change the rules of the game.  From our 32,000sqft facility in Telford, we have the capabilities and capacity to tackle almost any project, regardless of scale or technical complexity, anywhere in the UK or overseas.

"As one of our key suppliers, Contour surveyed and co-designed the Aluminium trims to the highest standard, quality and service. Providing our installers with the best standards and guidance during the construction phase of the project."

"The Zinc clad capping was labour intensive and costly compared to Contour’s Aluminium product. As the Contour system is manufactured in-house, the build quality and finish is far superior to what is achievable on site. The ease of installation was also a factor. We will specify the new system on other projects in the future."
Peter Yeung, Buyer, Taylor Wimpey
"The main reason we made the choice is that the cleaners usually have to call in estates if they need to clean the standard radiators. With the new style, if they need to do a clean they can do it without a tradesman."
Alison Reeves, Project Manager, Royal Bournemouth Hospital
"The Contour column casing system was seen as a competitive alternative to the column casings specified by the Architect. The client’s Project Managers have commented on how good they look and the Architect is very happy with the final product."
"We chose to use the DeepClean LST Radiator guard from Contour Casings because of its robust construction and the ease and efficiency with which our staff can independently clean and maintain the product, helping them meet cleaning audits without difficulty”
